Piazzale Michelangelo

This morning, everyone was so upset we had to leave the lovely city of Firenze. Our tour guide decided to give us a last taste of the city before we left for Assisi and Roma. He arranged for the bus driver to stop for about 15 minutes at Piazzale Michelangelo. Piazzale Michelangelo is a small piazza on the very top of a big hill where there is a cafe and a large copy of the statue of David. From this area, you can see the entire city of Firenze. Il Duomo is clearly the biggest thing in the landscape and stands out beautifully to the right of Ponte Vecchio. The mountains in the background that are miles and miles away truly make the sight worth seeing. I was so happy we got to stop and take pictures because it is just so breath-takingly beautiful. It is a panorama you really have to see to believe. - Mara
